    This pilot project was performed in 2000 - 2002 for 140 organisations and older volunteers in Austria, Belgium, England, France, Germany, Greece, Luxembourg and the Netherlands and financially supported by the European Commission, Employment and Social Affairs General Directorate. Read more

  • 2003 - 2005 Still Active! Performing Voluntary Service After 55 Years Old

    We wanted to propose to 29 volunteers from all over Europe to take part to a training event and then perform a period of voluntary service abroad of 2 to 4 weeks. This event included the following training modules: voluntary service historical framework, intercultural learning, team building, problems solving, safety and insurance, specific service information, monitoring activities. The training scheme was designed to be used by the organisations to train senior volunteers who work with them. Each module contains a short explication of the topic, training methodologies and materials. Read more

  • 2004 - 2005 Teaming up! an Exchange Programme for Older Volunteer

    Our proposal was that different partners exchanged groups of 5 volunteers coming from the same place. The size of the group changed according to different needs, but bilateral exchanges were balanced. Volunteers of these teams worked together fro three weeks abroad after having had a training meeting before departure. Read more

  • 2006 ECLOS: European Conference “Learning Opportunities for Senior Volunteers: Managing Trans-national Exchanges”

    This handbook documents the experiences of all actors involved in previous exchange programmes including the benefits and the difficulties of international exchanges. It does not provide all the answers but will help potential participants in future projects ask the relevant questions before embarking in their projects. Read more

  • 2006 - 2007 Environment Protection: Active Families for a Better European Awareness

    A project for raising awareness on the safeguarding of the environment amongst European families with children and for stimulating an active participation. The main tool is the cultural exchange with European generations and among citizens coming from European Union member States and from candidate countries. Read more.

  • 2006 - 2007 Fifty-Fifty - Junior and Senior Citizens Discovering Social Europe through the International Voluntary Service

    The aim of this project was to promote intergenerational co-operation as a medium to enhance active European citizenship and international volunteering. Read more
